  • 2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk (any milk will work)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup raisins or dried cranberries

If you want to double the recipe, make it in a 9×13-inch pan and double the ingredients.
Feel free to add nuts or use fresh or frozen fruit instead of the dried fruit.
