Preparation
Step 1
Heat a small pan over medium heat. Add the sesame oil, then sauté the garlic and green onions for 1 minute.
Step 2
Add the cabbage, carrots, soy sauce, black pepper, and red chili flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently until the vegetables are tender but not overly moist.
Step 3
Remove from the heat and let the filling cool slightly.
Step 4
Fill a shallow dish with warm water. Dip one rice paper sheet in the water for about 10 seconds until softened.
Step 5
Place the softened rice paper on a clean surface (I like to use parchment paper). Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of the filling into the center.
Step 6
Fold the sides of the rice paper over the filling, then fold the top and bottom to form a secure package. Repeat with the remaining sheets and filling.
Step 7
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Lightly spray or brush the dumplings with oil to help them crisp up.
Step 8
Arrange the dumplings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t touch.
Step 9
Cook for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the dumplings are slightly golden and crispy.
Step 10
Serve the dumplings with your favorite dipping sauce, such as soy sauce mixed with rice vinegar, a drizzle of sesame oil, and a pinch of toasted sesame seeds.
Step 11
Enjoy!
