Ingredients
Makes about 2 cups
- 2 large ripe tomatoes, chopped
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

2. Add the chopped onions and cook until they become translucent.

3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

4. Add the chopped tomatoes to the skillet and stir well.

5. Season the mixture with ground cumin, salt, and pepper.

6. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.
