Ingredients
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from approximately 2 pounds of lemons or 8 lemons)
- 2 1/2 cups cold water, plus additional if needed
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup maple syrup
- Bourbon
- Lots of ice

Preparation
Step 1
Mix lemon juice with 2 1/2 cups cold water and 1/4 cup maple syrup.
Step 2
Taste for sweetness. If you like your lemonade sweeter, add the remaining 1/4 cup maple syrup. If the sweetness is just right, add an additional 1/4 cup cold water instead.
Step 3
Stir to mix. This will yield 1 quart of maple lemonade.
Step 4
Fill a glass with ice.
Step 5
Add your desired amount of bourbon (either 1 or 1 1/2 shots).
Step 6
Fill the glass the rest of the way with the maple lemonade.
