Ingredients

6-8 cups
  • 1 Large pack of strawberries
  • 1/4 cup Sour Cream, to taste
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp Sugar, to taste
  • 1 loaf of fresh french bread, optional

Preparation

Step 1

Place strawberries in a bowl and give them a good rinse.

Step 2

Cut large strawberries (if any) in half, then using a spiral potato masher, mash them. There should still be chunks of strawberries.

Step 3

Add approximately 1/4 cup of sour cream or low-fat yogurt and 1-2 Tbsp of sugar to your taste.

Step 4

Mix everything well and serve with some fresh French bread or by itself.

I'm not putting exact amounts of sour cream and sugar because the amount of strawberries will likely always vary.
The amount of sugar you use will depend on how sweet or tart your strawberries are.
I don't like this to be sugary sweet. It's nice when it still has some tartness.
This blend holds well in the fridge for a couple of days. Most likely it will get eaten long before that.
