- 1 15-ounce can chickpeas (reserve 2 tablespoons aquafaba)
- ⅓ cup shatta (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons aquafaba (the liquid in a can of chickpeas)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (fresh or bottled)
- 1 garlic clove
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Za'atar (optional garnish)

Preparation
Step 1
In a high speed blender or food processor, add the chickpeas, shatta, olive oil, aquafaba, lemon juice, garlic, and salt.
Step 2
Blend until smooth and creamy.
Step 3
Optionally garnish with a sprinkle of za'atar before serving.
