Ingredients
4-6 margaritas
- 1 ½ cups freshly squeezed ruby red grapefruit juice (about 3 grapefruits)
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 8 limes)
- 1 ½ cups silver tequila
- 1 cup triple sec or Cointreau
- 2 tablespoons agave nectar or simple syrup, to taste
- Pinch of salt
- Ice cubes
- Optional: thinly sliced jalapeño, for garnish
- Optional: grapefruit slices, for garnish
- Optional: lime wedges, for garnish
- Kosher salt, for rimming the glasses

Preparation
Step 1
Rim the edges of your glasses with a lime wedge and dip them into a plate of kosher salt.
Step 2
In a large pitcher, combine the grapefruit juice, lime juice, tequila, triple sec, agave nectar, and a pinch of salt.

Stir well to combine. Taste and adjust with more agave or lime juice if necessary.

Fill each prepared glass with ice cubes.

Pour the margarita mixture over the ice.

Garnish with slices of jalapeño, grapefruit, or lime, if desired.

Serve immediately.

For a less spicy version, omit the jalapeño slices.
