- ½ cup chopped walnuts, plus 2 tablespoons for topping

Not a walnut person? Try other mix-ins like chopped pecans, chocolate chips, dried cranberries, or raisins.
For moist banana bread, use the full amount of mashed bananas. If short, substitute missing quantity with plain yogurt or sour cream.
Previously frozen thawed bananas can be used.
